New Delhi:India-China bilateral relations have been strained in the wake of the Tawang conflict. The two countries held a face-to-face meeting to deal with such a situation. The commander-level meeting was reportedly held at the Chushul-Moldo border. However, the discussion was only on the Line of Actual Control adjacent to Ladakh. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement on Thursday that the meeting was held. The meeting is considered to be quite significant in the heated situation.
On December 20, the commander-level meeting of the two armies was held. The meeting at the Chushul-Moldo border mainly discussed the restoration of peace. The commanders of the two countries discussed in detail that peace should be restored in the border areas in accordance with the state policy of the two countries. Both sides have agreed to maintain peace and tranquility in the areas adjoining Ladakh. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said this while talking to reporters.
