Guwahati: Under the leadership of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, there was a hope of resolving the dispute between Assam and Meghalaya. At this time, the Supreme Court today stayed the execution of an order of the Meghalaya High Court. The two chief ministers of the two states had signed an agreement to resolve the boundary dispute between the two.
The fact that the Assam-Meghalaya Boundary Agreement was granted to the Meghalaya High Court in particular has allowed Assam and Meghalaya to go ahead with the exercise of the Understanding Agreement and pave the way for resolving the border dispute through mutual agreements.
