Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary Inaugurates Golden Jubilee of Hajo Sports Association
Hajo:Assam Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary inaugurated the Golden Jubilee celebration of Hajo Sports Association at Suren Das Memorial College today .A huge sports procession was taken out from the premises of Hajo Suren Das College. Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary, former national athlete Taiyabun Nessa, international swimmer Elvis Ali Hazarika, IPL cricketer Abu Nechim, former Ranji cricketer Sajjad Zahir Hussain, Assam Olympic Association joint secretary Hiren Gogoi, Sports and Youth Welfare Director Niveda Das Patowari, Kamrup Superintendent of Police Hitesh Chandra Roy were present on the occasion. Arjun Nayanmani Saikia inaugurated a massive sports procession at a function hosted by Ratul Sharma and Secretary Dipankar Majumdar. Inaugurating the mega sports procession, Arjun Nayanmani Saikia said,— Sports are not only limited to physical and mental excellence, but it also ensures the future livelihood of the sportspersons. Therefore, the new generation appreciated the efforts of The Hajo Sports Association by calling upon them to take the field of sports forward by self-employing themselves in the sport of their choice through the practice of sports.
The massive sports procession, which was taken out with the participation of more than 4,000 sports fans and students from the greater Hajo region, proceeded from the premises of Hajo Suren Das College and go through Hajo Pakhamela, Madhav Mandir and concluded again in the college premises. This was followed by a inaugural meeting on the premises of Hajo Suren Das College. President of The Golden Jubilee Festival of Hajo Sports Association Ratul Sharma was welcomed and inaugurated with a musical performance.
It was inaugurated by Gitarth Goswami, Member Secretary, Students and Youth Welfare. The meeting was attended by Guwahati Lok Sabha constituency MP Queen Oza, Prabhat Bora, actress Asha Bordoloi, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad’s Rakesh Das, Suren Das College’s Principal Dr Hiranya Kumar Sharma among others.
This was followed by the cultural programme hosted by eminent actors and actresses Amrita Gogoi and Nayan Nirvana, along with prominent artists of Assam namely Samar Hazarika, JP Das, Biman Barua, Shanta Ujir, Sandhya Menon, Sangeeta Borthakur, Trishna Devi, Sangeeta Kakti, Vidya Sagar, Simanta Shekhar, Kallol Borthakur, Nekib, Anupam Saikia, Dhrubajyoti etc. The dance performances of Pranami Bhagwati and Amrapali make the opening ceremony of the Golden Jubilee Festival lively. Meanwhile, on the occasion of Golden Jubilee Festival In the early hours of the morning fifty flags hoisted on the premises of Hajo Suren Das College and paid homage by lighting a lamp and floral tributes to the image of iron man Vishnuram Medhi.
