Joshimath of Uttarkakhanda has been declared unfit for living due to the dead crack. This time, the same crack appeared in the north-eastern region. Panic gripped the city’s Kawariganj area with cracks in one house after another.
Shashi, a local resident, says, “I have been seeing cracks in the house for the past few days. We were scared to see all this after the Joshimath incident. A complaint was also lodged in the meeting. But instead of doing anything, they are just making dry promises. We are afraid that even our houses will not collapse. ’’
