Anti-government protests erupt in Peru, 42 killed

Lima: Peru is burning in the fire of protests. At least 42 people have already lost their lives in protests against President Dina Bollart. A state of emergency has been declared in several cities of Peru, including the capital Lima. The guidelines have been issued for the next 30 days. The movement of common people, gathering in one place, restrictions have been imposed on many things.


The first anti-government mass movement began in early December. During this time, the then President Pedro Castillo had to be sacked on multiple corruption charges. He is now in custody. The trial is underway. His name is also involved in the anti-government uprisings that are currently going on across the country. Castillo’s supporters are demanding a fresh vote and the removal of incumbent President Dina Bolarte.
