Guwahati:The Government of India is preparing to give it to China by keeping water bombs on the heads of Assam and the North East! The NHPC will make two units of the Lower Subansiri hydropower project operational this year at a time when China is constructing a large river dam on the Brahmaputra. MIB and NHPC officials held a meeting with reporters at a tea conference at the National Media Centre.
At that press conference, the two units will be made operational. It is to be noted that China is preparing to build a 60,000 MW hydroelectric project on the Brahmaputra. Meanwhile, the Central Government is planning to generate 6600 MW of electricity in the North-East. Dibang Prokla is awaiting approval of 2880 MW for the hydroelectric project of Arunachal Pradesh.
