The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched early morning searches at around 60 locations across Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The search is being carried out to carry out a massive ‘crackdown’ against suspects linked to the banned terrorist organization ISIS. Last year’s blasts in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu and Mangaluru in Karnataka are also being searched. A suspected militant named Jameja Mubin was killed in the blast in Coimbatore. He was questioned by the central anti-terrorism agency in 2019 on suspicion of being associated with ISIS. He was an engineering graduate. After the blast, Tamil Nadu recovered about 75 kg of explosives from the house of the terrorist.
