8-year-old recognised by Dalai Lama as Mongolia’s new religious leader

New Delhi:An 8-year-old American-born Mongolian child has been named as the rebirth of a spiritual leader by the Holy No. 14 Dalai Lama. He is recognized as the 10th Khalkha Jetsun Dhampa Rinpoche as a reincarnation of the third most important leader of Tibetan Buddhism.

The Mongolian children’s debut ceremony was held at Dharamsala in Himachal Pradesh, where the Dalai Lama himself was present.

Speaking on the occasion, the Dalai Lama said that “Today we have a rebirth of The Khalkha Jetsun Dhampa Rinpoche of Mongolia. One of them established a monastery dedicated to its practice in Mongolia. So, it was auspicious for the Dalai Lama to come to Dharamsala.
