How many liquor shops are there in Assam? Minister Pijush Hazarika presented statistics in the Assembly

Guwahati:The minister said this in response to a written question by Congress MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed. MLA Rekibuddin Ahmed asked how many liquor shops exist in Assam. Mla Ahmed also questioned how much revenue has been collected by the state government from those liquor shops.

He also asked how many rupees of revenue has been collected by the state government from those liquor shops. He also asked what qualifications the liquor shops are allotted on the basis of the qualifications. There are liquor shops. Out of these, 1708 are foreign liquor shops and 781 country liquor shops. He added that the state government has received Rs 1673.87 crore as revenue from liquor till February of the financial year 2021-22.
