Kashi-Vishwanath Corridor has given a new lease of life to the economy of Varanasi

New Delhi: Kishori Lal Agarwal owns a small shop selling Kachori-Sabzi, the main snack in Varanasi, in the Lanka area. This is his family business and he is the flag-bearer of the fourth generation. His shop has been selling only the same product for decades – kachori. Two months ago, she added ‘poha’ and bread pakora to the menu.

“All of a sudden people are coming to Varanasi from all over the country. In the past, there have been mosquitoes from different parts of the country to Varanasi, now the number of people going there has increased more than ever before. The massive renovation of Varanasi city over the last few years has brought hope to small vendors and traders in the heritage city. While vendors are upgrading their business, the hospitality industry is growing steadily. Since the opening of the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in December 2021, the rush of tourists has now increased in Varanasi. Varanasi has now become a tourist attraction. Other facilities have been added to it besides the temple and it has become a completely new city.
