Islamabad: Imran Khan is in great relief. On Thursday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan had termed his arrest as ‘illegal’. On Friday, he was granted bail by the Islamabad High Court in a case of inciting violence. The bail period is till May 23. However, there is confusion about whether he will be released right now. A total of 121 cases are pending against Imran.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif took a dig at the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Pti workers celebrate the news of Imran’s bail. On Tuesday, he was arrested by Pakistan Rangers in a land scam case. But on Thursday, the Supreme Court of Pakistan ruled that Imran’s arrest was illegal. The apex court ordered that the PTI leader be released immediately. Imran was granted bail on Friday.
Meanwhile, Shahbaz Sharif criticised the Supreme Court’s remarks, saying, “If you show bias towards this ‘ladla’, then all the robbers who are behind the garada in the country should be released.” He also said there was a “death of justice” in Pakistan.
Since Imran’s arrest on Tuesday, thousands of PTI supporters have been arrested. At least eight supporters were killed. In such a situation, many Imran supporters started celebrating on the way on Friday on the news of Imran’s bail.
