Guwahati : Today, the CPI(ML) and the Assam State Committee of the All Assam Progressive Women’s Association submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister of Assam seeking a judicial inquiry into the mysterious death of Police Inspector and Officer-in-charge of Mariklong Police Station Jonmani Rabha.
This was stated by CPI(ML) state secretary Vivek Das. The secretary said that on May 18, the Women’s Association had held a joint rally at various places in Nagaon district to demand a judicial inquiry. In a memorandum to the Chief Minister, it was stated that the killing was due to an evil cycle of several high officials of the police department with a special criminal circle and hence a fair high-level inquiry into the incident was necessary.
