Guwahati: Assam’s Chief of Police G P Singhe on Saturday announced that the law and order situation in Assam has improved. Therefore, the state government has decided to repeal the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from 28 out of 35 districts.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarmayo has said that the government aims to completely repeal the Special Powers of Military Forces Act (AFSPA) by the end of 2023.
