Health threat: Centre bans 14 medicines, including paracetamol, nimesulide

New Delhi: The central government has announced a ban on several drugs that can threaten people’s health. The government has taken such a decision following the recommendation of an expert committee on the subject. Announcing a ban on 14 medicines each, the government said”There is no medical justification for this FDC [fixed dose combination].

The Centre has therefore banned at least 14 fixed combination drugs, including those that melt in the waters of nimesulide and paracetamol; Clopheniramine malate and codeine syrup “These drugs can pose a “risk” to humans, the Centre said.
