Expelled DMK leader arrested for derogatory remarks against BJP leader

New Delhi: Former DMK spokesperson Shivaji Krishnamurthy has been expelled from the party for making derogatory remarks against the BJP leader. He was also arrested by the Tamil Nadu Police after he lost all party posts. He has been charged with intentional breach of peace under the Indian Penal Code. In January this year, the DMK leader had also made derogatory remarks against the Tamil Nadu Governor. At that time, he was suspended from the party for a few days.

A few days ago, DMK leader Krishnamurthy made several derogatory remarks against actress and politician Khushbu Sundar. The video of the comment went viral. Then the BJP leader raised his voice. Video tweet tagged .He defeated Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Khushbu tweeted, “By making such comments, not only me but also leaders like you are being insulted. If you accept this, it is your party that is at a loss. If such a comment had been made to a woman in your family, would you have accepted that too?”
Tamil Nadu state BJP leadership also came out against the DMK over the incident. Soon after, the party sent a clear message to Krishnamurthy. According to the party statement, the former speaker is being expelled from the party due to indiscipline. He can no longer hold any position in the party. Krishnamurthy was suspended from the party for making derogatory remarks against the Governor. However, he later apologized and became active again.
