‘Islam culture is decaying’: Pakistan bans Holi in educational institutions

Islamabad: The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan has issued a fatwa that Holi will not be played in educational institutions in Pakistan. Why such a rule? According to the Pakistani administration, playing Holi destroys the culture of Islam. Therefore, students have to follow social norms. A few days ago, a video of students playing Holi in the premises of a Pakistani university surfaced. Then there is the new fatwa in Pakistan. In March, Muslim extremists attacked Hindu students during holi celebrations.

A few days ago, a group of students celebrated Holi at Quaid-e-Azam University. Pictures and videos of the June 12 festival went viral on the internet. After that, the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan was shaken. In an order issued on Tuesday, the commission said holi cannot be played in the university premises. Because in this country, all religious beliefs are respected, but the ideology of Islam has been damaged.
