New Delhi: Two writers from Assam were nominated for the Sahitya Akademi Award 2023 on Friday.Jintu Gitartha received the Sahitya Akademy Yuva Puraskar 2023 for his short collection Mon Mora Tora. In accordance with the procedure, a three member Jury was constituted in each of the 20 Indian languages for the Yuva Puraskar 2023.
Shortlisted books were sent to the members of the Jury and to the Convener and the Jury meetings were convened in 20 languages. The digest of books which were under consideration for the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2023 is kept below. The decision of the Jury is indicated in the digest of the respective languages. Rathindranath Goswami recommended for the the Sahitya Akademy Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2023 for his novel Powalmoni Aru Chichingar Duhxahoxik Abhijan. Both writer will get Rs 50,000 as cash reward.
