New Delhi :Tushar Mehta’s tenure as Solicitor General has been extended for another three years. Hailing from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat, he was appointed to the post in 2018. Additional Solicitors General Vikramjit Banerjee, KM Nataraj, Balbir Singh, SV Raju, N Venkataraman and Aishwarya Bharti were recently extended along with him.
The decision to extend the tenure of solicitors and additional solicitors general was taken after a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Friday.
Hailing from Gujarat, Tushar studied in the state. He received his law degree from Gujarat University. He also received a doctorate from two other universities.
