New Delhi: The Delhi Police has received a tip-off that a drone has been flown over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in New Delhi. The prime minister’s security has been tightened in the wake of the incident. Delhi Police officials have launched an investigation into the incident.
According to police sources, members of the Special Protection Group (SPG) informed the Delhi Police about the incident around 5 am on Monday. SPG officials are deployed for the prime minister’s security. They were the first to notice the drone. The Delhi Police acted swiftly on receiving the information. They have launched an investigation into the matter.
According to Delhi Police sources, the Prime Minister’s residence falls under a ‘no-fly zone’. In other words, no aircraft or drone can fly over the residence for security reasons. Still, there are doubts about how the drone flew.
