Imphal: Kuki outfits lifted the blockade on manipur’s national highway after two months following a petition filed by Home Minister Amit Shah. Nh-2 or imphal-Dimapur national highway was blocked since unrest broke out in Manipur in May last year. Recently, the Kukis decided to lift the blockade after listening to Shah.
Two kuki organisations, the United People’s Front (UPF) and the Kuki National Organisation (KNO), played an important role in the blockade of the national highway. The two organisations recently released a joint statement. They said the blockade on the national highway was being lifted immediately. The Home Minister expressed deep concern over the restoration of peace in the state.
