Centre’s ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign in memory of martyrs, modi announces ‘Mann Ki Baat’

New Delhi: The Centre is launching the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaign to honour the country’s lion-hearted brave martyrs. This was the words heard by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 103rd ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on Sunday. “Special inscriptions will also be installed in lakhs of gram panchayats across the country in memory of these enlightened people,” the Prime Minister was heard saying. The programme will be launched across the country from August 9, the Prime Minister said.
At the same time, in this episode of the monthly radio show, Modi also mentioned the Amrit Kals Yatra. He said soil from different parts of the country will be collected in 7,500 containers. After that, the soil will be mixed and planted. War Modi also announced his plans to set up amrit vatika. He spoke of the need to plant trees. The Prime Minister also lauded the initiatives taken in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh on water conservation.


The prime minister also raised the issue of Haj pilgrimage. This year, he said, four Muslim men and women have gone to Saudi Arabia for Hajj without a male companion. The Modi government has extended a helping hand to them in every way. Modi addresses the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme on the last Sunday of every month. The event has been going on since he took over as prime minister in 2014.
