New Delhi: Several roads have been closed due to landslides. Traffic was disrupted as piles of stones filled the road. And the car was buried in that pile. As a result, at least five pilgrims have died. Saturday, police said.
On Thursday evening, a landslide in Tarsali area of Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand led to piles of stones on the road. At that time, a car loaded with pilgrims was trying to go to Kedarnath. One of them was reportedly from Gujarat. According to reports, the road collapsed in Tarsali area due to heavy rains. About 60 meters of the highway was destroyed. That’s when a car crashed into it. The disaster response team rushed to the rescue operation and rescued the car from the debris on Friday. Five bodies were found there.
