Army’s Labrador Kent killed in gunfight with militants in Kashmir

New Delhi: Labrador Kent, a member of the Indian Army’s dog squad, was killed while searching for militants. Kent had gone in search of the absconding militants along with the Indian Army. Suddenly, the shooting began. The militants and the soldiers opened fire from both sides. Kent rushed to save his “handler” during the shooting. 6-year-old Labrador Kent died while trying to save a soldier. The incident took place in Rajouri area of Narla village in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to PTI, Kent is a labrador breed of girl dog. He was in the 21st Army Dog Unit. Kent took part in ‘Operation Sujaligala’ to track down the absconding militants with a team of soldiers. Suddenly, the two sides exchanged fire. As Kent’s ‘handler’
