New Delhi: Delhi has recorded the highest pollution in the air this year. Delhi’s air quality index touched 460 on Friday morning. Primary schools have already been closed to avoid damage caused by the toxic air in the capital. The administration has also ordered a halt to construction work for the time being. More than 20 metros are being run in Delhi so that people can stop using cars and move in the metro. New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Sunday accused Arvind Kejriwal of turning Delhi into a “gas chamber”.
Delhi’s pollution levels usually rise during Diwali. Fields in the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana. According to the Air Quality Index, scores ranging from 401 to 500 are alarming. Visibility dropped to 600 metres in Safdarjung area. The met department does not expect the situation to improve throughout the day. There is also a possibility that the wind will blow at a very low speed.
