New Delhi: Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra is under more pressure over the money transfer controversy. The Lokpal has ordered a CBI probe against Mahua. Bjp MP Nishikant Dubey, the main complainant in the case, claimed.
On Wednesday, Nishikant Dubey on social media platform X claimed that the Lokpal has ordered a CBI probe against Mahua Moitra for allegedly committing corruption by mortgaging national security on the basis of his complaint. If the BJP MP’s allegations are true, the pressure on Mahua to raise questions instead of money will increase. Parliament’s ethics committee is already investigating the TMC MP. If Dubey’s claim is true, the CBI will also probe the Krishnanagar MP. However, neither the Lokpal nor the CBI has officially informed about this.
It may be recalled that Nishikant Dubey had accused Mahua of asking questions instead of the first money. He was the one who wrote a letter to the Speaker against the TMC MP. He also wrote a letter to the Lokpal. On the basis of his complaint, Speaker Om Birla has ordered an inquiry by the Ethics Committee against Mahua. The Ethics Committee has held two meetings on the issue. The Ethics Committee will meet again on Thursday. Mahua’s fate as an MP will be decided on that day.
However, the ethics committee does not have the right to take any legal action against Mahua. The Lokpal can do that. Dubey claimed that it was the Lokpal who had ordered a CBI probe against the TMC MP.
In response, Mahua also hit out at the central government. “It is good to know that Prime Minister Narendra Modi also has a Lokpal. Welcome the order of a CBI probe against me. Let the CBI come and count my shoes. ”
