New Delhi: In the case of three new criminal laws brought by the Centre, there is no objection to using Hindi names instead of English. The Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs has cleared the name of the Indian Code of Justice, the Indian Code of Citizens Protection and the Indian Evidence Act. A parliamentary committee headed by BJP MP Brijlal has said that the three new laws framed by the Home Ministry will be named in Hindi but will be written in English script. So these names are not unconstitutional.
The Centre has decided to amend Section 124(a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). A bill has been introduced in the Lok Sabha proposing to replace the three laws – the Indian Penal Code, code of criminal procedure (CrPC), and the Indian Evidence Act.
