New Delhi: After 17 days, 41 stranded workers were released from the tunnel in Uttarkashi. The family members were eagerly waiting for them. At some point, that good time came. But the father of a labourer breathed his last before he could see his son, who had returned from the ‘hellhole’, with both eyes full. The family said the incident was caused by excessive anxiety for the boy.
According to PTI, the deceased has been identified as Basset alias Barsa Murmu. A resident of Bahada village in East Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. He is the father of 18-year-old Baktu, a labourer trapped in the Silkiyara tunnel in Uttarkashi. His family announced his death on Wednesday. Bassett died around 8 a.m. Tuesday. According to the family, Bassett was very worried about his son. He was thinking day and night about his son’s health. He was waiting for the news when everyone would be rescued from the tunnel.
