Guwahati:Renowned actor Jayanta Das, famed for his roles in various serials including the popular series ‘Bharaghar’, is no more. The actor died at a private hospital in Guwahati on Saturday night. He was 66.The Assam actor, beloved by audiences, was undergoing treatment in the Intensive Care Unit of Apollo Hospital, Guwahati.His family issued a special request for blood donations, given his dire need.
Few days ago Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta paid a visit to the Apollo Hospital to inquire the health condition of Assamese actor and comedian Jayanta Das.It may be mentioned that, the actor was undergoing treatment in a critical condition at the Apollo Hospital.Assam Government provided all the required healthcare facilities to the actor. Jayanta Das was famously known for his role as Hemanta Kakoti in the hit Assamese sitcom ‘Bharaghar’ which left a lasting impact. He was also seen in Assamese movies including Nayak, Moina Sorai Moina Maat, Kadambari, Mon and Kanyadaan,Raamdhen,KHEL:The Game ,Adomya,Aai Kot Nai(Maa),Jonaki Mon,,Bhumiputra,Jun Jwole Kopalot,Bukur Majot Jole etc.
