Japan tremors strike 155 times, killing at least 30, Kishida says ‘huge damage’

Tokyo: On the first day of the year, a major natural disaster has come down in Japan. An earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale shook the country on Monday. Since then, tremors have been felt 155 times. According to the latest data, 30 people have died so far. However, the number of casualties is expected to rise. Many are still trapped under the rubble.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said the damage was extensive. “On the first day of the new year, we faced a terrible natural disaster,” Kishida was quoted as saying by AFP. The earthquake caused extensive damage. There have also been fatalities.
