Guwahati:At least 12 people, including five women and a minor boy, were killed after a passenger bus and a truck collided in Assam’s Golaghat district on Wednesday morning, officials informed.The incident took place around 5am at Dergaon on National Highway 37 when the bus carrying around 45 people, on its way from Golaghat towards Tinsukia, had a head on collision with a coal-laden truck coming from the opposite direction on the same side of the road.
Dead persons are-
Anima Saikia, Deepali Saikia, Navjit Saikia,Pinky Saikia, Rinki Bora, Niharika Saikia, Shubhankar Saikia, Nityananda Bora, Chitra Bora, Principriya Bora, the driver of the truck, Noor Alam of Bongaigaon, the driver of the bus Mridul Bora.
Injured persons are-
Chitralekha Saikia, Bijit Saikia, Arup Saikia,Chinmoy Bora, Bubu Saikia, Deepti Saikia, Mridul Saikia, Bulu Saikia,Bitopan Bora, Archana Saikia, Preeti Saikia, Ruli Saikia Bora,Abhijit Bora, Navneeta Saikia, Dhrubajyoti Bora, Kulumani Saikia,Prachurya Saikia, Jonali Bara Saikia, Kaushik Saikia etc.
