New Delhi: The ED is active ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. This time, a Congress MLA from Haryana and a former INLD MLA have been targeted by the central agency. Rs 5 crore in cash, 100 bottles of liquor and 300 bullets seized. The search began on Thursday. The ED reached the residence of Congress MLA from Sonipat, Surendra Panwar, who is also a mining businessman. His associates’ homes, offices and elsewhere were also searched. The phones of his family and staff were confiscated.
Searches were also conducted at the residence of former Yamunanagar MLA Dilbag Singh. Searches were conducted at 20 locations, including Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Mohila, Faridabad, Chandigarh and Karnal. And that’s what caught the investigators’ eyes. Cash and alcohol are available. A large number of cartridges and 4-5 kg of gold biscuits were also recovered.
