New Delhi: If all goes well, she will be the first woman Chief Justice of the country. A comment by B V Nagarathna has sparked outrage in the legal fraternity. The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court says, “The son stays on his own until the daughter-in-law comes. But your daughter will always be your daughter. ”

B V Nagarathna is not only a judge but also a women development activist. The country’s future Chief Justice made several significant remarks on women empowerment at an event on Saturday. He says the institution of marriage needs to be kept alive. But the existence of women in that institution should not be in crisis in any way. Women should not be subordinate to men. Women also deserve due respect from everyone in the family. Behind a successful man, not just women, but the whole family.
