Prime Minister Narendra Modi has tried to unite Ayodhya and Janakpur. These two cities are called ‘Sister Cities’. So Janakpur is the sister of Ayodhya. In the Valmiki Ramayana, four words are used to refer to Sita – Vaidehi, Janaki, Sita and Mithilapuri.
Mithilpuri means Mithila. Vaidehi and Janaki, on the other hand, are names derived from her father, King Janak. Which is also called Videha. During Rama’s exile in Chitrakoot, Sita herself tells the story of her birth to Anusuya, the wife of Atri Rishi. He said he was found in a field cultivated by Janak Raja.According to many scholars, Nimi, the grandson of Manu and son of Ikshvaku, was the first king of the kingdom of Videha. This kingdom of Videha was also known as Mithila. The language here was Maithili, which is still spoken in parts of Bihar and Nepal. During the British period, Mithila included Trihut, Darbhanga, Kosi, Purnia, Munger, Bhagalpur, Santhal Parganas division and some districts of Nepal. According to many, all the kings of the Mithila dynasty, including Nimi, are known as Janak. The word Janak means father, and that was the status given to the king at that time.
