New Delhi:After Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has given a ‘jolt’ to the Congress. Punjab Chief Minister and AAP leader Bhagwant Mann on Wednesday indicated that his party would contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on its own in all the 13 constituencies of the state.
“In Punjab, we alone have the ability to fight and win,” Mann said on Wednesday. Sources in the AAP said the party’s Punjab leadership has already conveyed to Kejriwal its reservations about contesting in alliance with the Congress. Last week, the Congress and the AAP had announced that they would contest the Chandigarh mayoral polls in an alliance to defeat the BJP. After that, a section of political analysts believe that Mann’s message has widened the cracks within the anti-BJP alliance ‘India’.
