Guwahati:As conditions take a turn for the dry and sultry over many parts of India, a new patch of refreshing rainfall has been scheduled for the northeastern states. In fact, this new spell could be the first rains many of the sister states receive this month.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a western disturbance exists as a trough near Pakistan, while another trough stretches from Vidarbha to Odisha. The combination of these systems will create rain over Northeast India and should play a role in arresting daytime mercuries over many cities.IMD forecasts isolated to scattered, light or moderate amounts of rainfall (or snowfall, depending on the altitude) across sections of Arunachal Pradesh till Sunday (March 17).
