New Delhi: The All India Muslim Jamaat has welcomed the CAA. The organisation’s president Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi Barelvi said he “welcomes” it but it should have happened earlier. The implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act will not affect the Muslim community of the country.

Before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the Central Government has implemented the Citizenship Amendment Act. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued its rules on Monday, March 11, which has been welcomed by the All India Muslim Jamaat. The organisation’s president Maulana Shahabuddin Rizvi Barelvi said he “welcomes it, but it should have happened earlier”.

The president of the All India Muslim Jamaat said that the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act will not affect the Muslim community of the country. Earlier, there was no law to give citizenship to non-Muslims from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh who faced religious persecution. It will not affect crores of Muslims in the country.
