New Delhi: The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the Centre on the hearing of the CAA case. A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the implementation of the much-discussed law. The Supreme Court has sought a response from the Centre on the matter. The Centre has to file its reply in the apex court by April 8.
On Monday, the Centre notified the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act. Soon after, widespread protests erupted across the country. From political parties to the common people – many people oppose the law. Several petitions were filed in the Supreme Court seeking a stay on the implementation of the law. More than 200 cases were put together and the hearing began on Tuesday.
