Mumbai: At least 40 flamingo birds were killed when an Emirates plane rammed into Laxmi Nagar area of Pantnagar in Ghatkopar in Mumbai on Monday night. Mumbai airport sources said emirates airlines flight EK 508 collided with the bird’s flock at 9.18pm.
The damaged plane managed to land safely at the Mumbai airport. Additional chief conservator of forests SY Rama Rao said 40 flamingoes have been found dead in the area. He said these birds have been confirmed to have died after being hit by the aircraft. Several other birds were injured in the incident.
