Guwahati: The concerning departments had directed schools to resume classes from 7-30 am in several districts of the state including Kamrup (metro) in view of the summer flow. However, the heat heave in Assam has decreased significantly since Cyclone Remal. Therefore, the Kamrup (Metro) administration has issued directives to resume schools at the previous normal time.
According to a recent directive issued by the Office of the Inspector of Schools and District Mission Coordinator for SSA Kamrup (Metro), all schools including government, provincial and private schools in Kamrup Metro district will resume as per the previous regular academic schedule. The directive will come into effect from June 4. SSA Kamrup (Metro) School Inspector and District Mission Coordinator Deepika Chowdhury made the announcement after the District Commissioner of Kamrup (Metropolitan) withdrew an earlier order.
