Britain’s claims: Hasina’s application for political asylum in London

London: What happened in Bangladesh, Britain demands a full investigation led by the United Nations. Foreign Secretary David Lammy said, “Violence has been going on in Bangladesh for the past two weeks. Many people lost their lives. Hasina’s government has fallen. Military rule has been issued. In this situation everyone needs to come together to prevent violence. Why the violence happened in Bangladesh, there needs to be a full investigation led by the United Nations.”


Bangladesh has been heated up since last month due to the quota reform movement. From Sunday, the mercury of excitement started rising again. The fire of the movement practically turned into a wildfire. On Monday it took a more dire form. Hundreds of people lost their lives. The situation became so tense that Sheikh Hasina gave in under pressure. He left Bangladesh by resigning. The army chief announced the formation of the interim government. Mujibkanya left Bangladesh and has now taken refuge in India. According to news agency ANI, India’s National Security Adviser ‘Super Spy’ Ajit Doval met Hasina in Ghaziabad. The news is that the two talked for quite some time. After seeing the situation, he gave a detailed report on the matter to Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. Reported to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well. Hasina is seeking political asylum in London. However, according to news agency PTI, Hasina’s political asylum application has been rejected by Britain.
