New Delhi: A CRPF officer was martyred in an encounter with militants in Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir. Militants launched a surprise attack on a check post of CRPF jawans in the hilly areas of Udhampur on Monday. At that time the CRPF officer was shot. That is why he died. After this incident, the army surrounded the area and conducted a search operation to find the militants.
According to CRPF sources, the CRPF check post was located in a hilly area 8 km away from the police station of Udhampur’s Dadu area. The check post was created recently to prevent terrorist activities. Militants attacked there on Monday. The officer was shot and martyred. Additional forces have been sent to the scene by paramilitary forces. CRPF jawans are combing the area for militants.
