Heavy rains in Andhra-Telangana due to ‘Asna’, at least 24 dead, hundreds of trains cancelled

New Delhi: : Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are flooded with heavy rain due to the low pressure created by Cyclone Asna. At least 24 people have been reported dead in two states due to incessant rains for the past few days. Vast areas of several districts have gone under water. It is known that at least hundreds of trains have been canceled in this state due to the disaster.

Although the rain stopped a bit on Monday morning, the weather department has still issued a warning. The administration has ordered not to go out of the house unless absolutely necessary. 26 more teams of NDRF have been sent to the affected areas to continue intensive rescue operations. Heavy rains are worst in rural parts of Vijayawada district. Ambapuram, Nayanabharam, Nunna and Pathapadu here have been washed away. Police and NDRF have started rescue operations. Many people have taken shelter in relief camps. The administration is shifting the locals. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah called Chief Ministers Chandrababu Naidu and Revanth Reddy and inquired about the situation. He also promised all kinds of help.
