Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal spearheads a successful BJP membership campaign in Assam’s North Bank, rallying hundreds to join the party while emphasizing service and development.

Guwahati : In a vibrant display of political enthusiasm, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal led a significant membership campaign for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Assam’s North Bank region, specifically in the Dhemaji and Lakhimpur districts. This campaign, which took place on Friday, attracted hundreds of new party members, showcasing a robust interest in the BJP’s vision for the state.During a series of meetings throughout the day, Sonowal urged attendees to embrace the ethos of ‘Sewa’ (service) to both society and the nation. He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s self-identification as the ‘Pradhan Sewak’ of India, a concept that has become a cornerstone of the BJP’s philosophy since Modi took office in 2014.”The BJP’s membership drive represents a significant celebration for us all,” Sonowal declared. He emphasized the importance of serving the motherland and the need for collective effort to strengthen both society and the nation. “A robust society is essential for a strong country. As dedicated sons and daughters of Assam, we must fulfill our responsibilities with unwavering commitment.”The Union Minister praised the Modi administration for its ongoing initiatives aimed at creating an inclusive and developed India. “Under Prime Minister Modi’s dynamic leadership, we have witnessed extensive development and holistic welfare schemes benefiting all sections of society. Together, the BJP-led NDA government will continue its mission of all-round development, aspiring towards the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ or developed India,” he asserted. Sonowal cited the government’s track record over the past decade as a testament to the BJP’s commitment to its promises.Sonowal’s campaign began at Tokobari in the Sisiborgaon area of Dhemaji, where he engaged with local leaders and citizens. He continued to meet constituents at various locations in North Lakhimpur, including Thekeraguri, Chauldhowa, Nakadam, and Khelmati Naamghar, before concluding the day’s events at Ranganadi LAC under the Naoboicha GP.Criticizing previous governments, Sonowal highlighted the historical neglect of Assam and the northeastern region, stating that the BJP has transformed the landscape of development. “The people of Assam have long been overlooked by earlier administrations. This era of neglect has ended with the BJP in power, which has received a popular mandate to serve the populace effectively.”He further pointed out the strides made in infrastructure, financial inclusion, and youth empowerment under the BJP-led government. “Today, we see well-developed roads, improved financial accessibility for all citizens, and enhanced means of communication. We are enabling our youth and women to realize their full potential, fostering entrepreneurship and economic growth,” Sonowal explained.In his concluding remarks, Sonowal expressed optimism for the future, noting that while significant progress has been made, there is still much work to be done. “Our goal is to make India the best country in the world.
