New ESIC Medical College Approved in Guwahati: A Boost for Assam’s Healthcare

The Central government has greenlit the establishment of an ESIC medical college in Guwahati, Assam, marking a significant enhancement in local healthcare infrastructure, as announced by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Guwahati:In a recent announcement, the Central government has approved the creation of an Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical college in Beltola, Guwahati, as part of a broader initiative that includes 10 such institutions nationwide. This decision was made public on October 11, drawing praise from Assam’s Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Expressing his gratitude on social media, CM Sarma thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the approval, stating, “My heartfelt thanks to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for the establishment of an ESIC Medical College in Guwahati.” He emphasized that this new medical college will significantly enhance patient care within the state and bolster the region’s healthcare capabilities.

In alignment with efforts to improve healthcare infrastructure, Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, also announced the news, highlighting that these new medical colleges are a crucial step toward strengthening India’s healthcare system and expanding the medical workforce.
