: Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma condemns the Congress party over an incident involving Mallikarjun Kharge’s exclusion during Priyanka Gandhi’s nomination, highlighting alleged internal inequalities within the party.

Guwahati: In a recent statement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took aim at the Congress party, criticizing them for an incident where Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge reportedly faced denial of entry while Priyanka Gandhi Vadra submitted her nomination for the Wayanad by-elections. Sarma remarked, “This incident reveals the true status of Dalits within the Congress. Externally, Rahul Gandhi promotes the idea of equal participation for Dalits, yet internally, they are subjected to humiliation. The treatment of Kharge is a clear indication that the Congress is failing its own principles, exposing how Dalits are regarded as second-class members within their ranks.”These comments come as political tensions rise ahead of upcoming elections. The Congress party has yet to respond to Sarma’s accusations. In addition, Sarma announced plans for the BJP to elevate the Hussainabad sub-division in Palamu district to district status if they win the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections. He expressed that the new district would be named in honor of either Lord Ram or Lord Krishna, reflecting the cultural heritage of the region. Sarma, who is also overseeing the BJP’s campaign efforts in Jharkhand, affirmed that this initiative would be among the first actions of the newly formed government following the elections.
