Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma pledges to address infiltration issues in Jharkhand, drawing parallels to mythological tales, while focusing on demographic concerns and women’s justice.
Guwahati:In a bold statement during his campaign for the Jharkhand Assembly elections, Assam Chief Minister and BJP co-in-charge, Himanta Biswa Sarma, highlighted the urgent issue of infiltration in the region. He invoked the mythological figure Lord Hanuman, saying, “Just as Hanuman set Lanka ablaze, we must ignite action against infiltrators to transform Jharkhand into a prosperous land.”
Sarma raised alarms about demographic changes in the Santhal Pargana area, noting a decrease in the tribal population alongside a notable rise in the Muslim population. While acknowledging that not all Muslims are infiltrators, he questioned the sustainability of such demographic shifts, stating, “Is it realistic for a family to have 10-12 children? If not, then it’s evident that people are coming in from outside. It’s straightforward arithmetic.”
Reiterating the BJP’s mission, Sarma emphasized that the party’s aim is not just electoral success but also the removal of infiltrators and the pursuit of justice for women in the region. He underscored the commitment to addressing these pressing demographic and social challenges as a cornerstone for the future of Jharkhand.
