Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma claims Congress MP Rakibul Hussain misused his power during his tenure as Minister of State for Home Affairs by facilitating unauthorized job placements, promising action after the by-election.
Guwahati: During a rally in Bongaigaon, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma leveled serious allegations against Congress MP Rakibul Hussain, accusing him of abusing his ministerial power to facilitate backdoor appointments when he served as the Minister of State for Home Affairs. CM Sarma, speaking in support of Deeptimoyi Choudhury, the AGP candidate for the BJP alliance in the upcoming by-election, claimed that these unauthorized appointments, initially rumored, have now been partially confirmed after Hussain himself admitted to making several such appointments.CM Sarma questioned the legality of a minister personally handling job placements and criticized the lack of transparency in the process. He pointed to a recent case involving an individual named Rakesh, who was implicated in illegal recruitment activities and is now facing legal consequences. The Chief Minister emphasized that once the by-election concludes, the state government would take appropriate steps to investigate and take action against Hussain for his role in these controversial appointments. The allegations have sparked renewed discussions on political accountability and transparency, with the Assam government signaling its intention to closely examine past actions taken during Hussain’s tenure. The CM’s comments indicate a broader effort to address potential abuses of power and ensure greater integrity in government recruitment practices.
