Justice D. Krishnakumar has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Manipur High Court. He took the oath of office in Imphal on November 20, 2024, succeeding Justice Siddharth Mridul.
Guwahati: Justice D. Krishnakumar has officially assumed the role of Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur. The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Raj Bhavan in Imphal, where Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya administered the oath. Justice Krishnakumar, formerly a judge at the Madras High Court, was appointed by the President of India on November 20, 2024. He succeeds Justice Siddharth Mridul, who retired from the position. The ceremony was attended by a host of prominent figures, including Chief Minister N. Biren Singh, Speaker Th. Satyabrata Singh, and various government officials, along with judges from the High Court and lower courts, as well as military and police representatives.
