Kokrajhar Hosts Walkathon to Promote Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment

Guwahati: Kokrajhar recently hosted a vibrant walkathon to advocate for gender equality and women’s empowerment, part of the ongoing Nayi Chetna 3.0 campaign. This event was organized by the Bodoland Community Counseling Center, Kokrajhar, in collaboration with the Department of Women and Child Development BTC and ASRLM Kokrajhar.The walkathon, which saw participants dressed in their traditional attire, aimed to raise awareness about the importance of achieving gender equity and the role of women in building an inclusive society. People from various communities participated, walking together in solidarity for this critical cause.The event included a rally that began at the Gender Resources Centre in Dotma and ended at Dotma Girls’ School. The rally served as a platform to spread vital messages about the need for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.The Nayi Chetna 3.0 campaign seeks to address existing gender disparities, advocate for the rights of women, and ensure equal opportunities for all. Its long-term goal is to create a lasting social impact, not only in Kokrajhar but across broader communities, contributing to a more just and equitable society for all.
