India observed Victory Day with a large rally from Akbarpur to Sutarkandi border, honoring the sacrifices made during Bangladesh’s independence, featuring participation from students and leaders.
Guwahati: Victory Day was observed today with a vibrant rally organized by both Central and State Governments. The event, known as the Victory March, took place from Akbarpur to the Sutarkandi border, commemorating the historic surrender of Pakistani soldiers in Bangladesh on December 14. This event marked a pivotal moment in history, as India lost many soldiers during the Bangladesh Liberation War. Since then, December 15 has been observed as Victory Day to honor their sacrifices.The rally saw enthusiastic participation from students across three districts of Barak Valley. During the event, Minister Nandita Garlosa, Rajya Sabha MP Mision Ranjan Das, and BJP President Subrata Bhattacharjee presented certificates to the participants in recognition of their involvement.At the Sutarkandi border, the celebrations were enhanced by a warm welcome from the BSF band, adding a ceremonial touch to the day’s events.
